April is Autism Awareness Month

April is Autism Awareness Month. At the Greater Scranton YMCA, we’re committed to providing opportunities for ALL to grow, learn and thrive. Did you know we offer adaptive We Are Y?

We Are Y is an inclusive community outreach program that provides individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities access to recreational activities that encourage staying active, building interpersonal relationships among peers, self-sufficiency, and aid in developing cognitive abilities. Recreational activities will rotate weekly.

The focus of We Are Y is to help build individual’s developmental skills, personal strengths, creativity, and cognitive and non-cognitive skills through swimming, movement, music, arts, and much more.
