12-Week Diabetes Prevention Program
  • About 79 million American adults have prediabetes. People with prediabetes are likely to develop Type II Diabetes within 10 years, unless they take action to prevent or delay the disease. The good news is lifestyle change such as eating healthy ,increasing physical activity and losing a modest amount of weight can prevent or delay the development of Type II Diabetes. With the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program , you can work with our Registered Dietitian and Personal Trainer to:
  • Receive nutritional counseling to make impactful dietary and lifestyle changes.
  • Work to reduce bodyweight by 7% (the benchmarked percentage to reverse prediabetes).
  • Reduce Hemoglobin A1c level (program for anyone with a HGBA1C of 5.7 -6.4%) or Fasting Plasma Glucose of 100-125mg/dl.
